Career-enhancing opportunity for a Tax Assistant to join the highly regarded private client tax team of this professional services firm in Edinburgh. The team are currently working on a hybrid basis (3 days per week in the office) and will offer study support for professional tax qualification (ATT/CTA)

Managing your own client allocation, you will be responsible for tax compliance and administration duties as well as supporting colleagues with a wider portfolio of private clients, Trusts and Estates. This will include preparing tax returns, calculating capital gains tax and arranging payments of tax liabilities. You will maintain regular and professional communication with your clients, HMRC and tax colleagues to ensure work is completed timeously and to high standard. You will work to build and maintain your tax technical knowledge and provide assistance and advice to clients on a regular basis.

Ideally, you will have 1-3 years' personal tax exposure within an accounting or legal firm. You will have excellent attention to detail, numerical and time management skills, and the ability to communicate technical matters in a clear, concise manner. Experience using relevant software advantageous (e.g. Excel, Word, tax management systems)
