Composting Operative

**Coastal Organics is now hiring a Composting Operative to join our ‘Green Team’**

Coastal Organics has a contract with Devon County Council to compost most of Devon’s garden waste at several sites around the county. The operation consists of receiving garden waste, shredding, and screening of the material to produce a finished PAS100 compost product. The operation receives about 50,000 tonnes of garden waste per year.

**As part of the ‘Green Team’ you will carry out various duties, such as**:

- Day to day control of the site working area (when working on site) to ensure safe working
- Operate loading equipment, screener, and other plant to produce good quality compost
- Operate litter and metal removal equipment and trailer and dispose/recycle as appropriate
- Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of assigned plant
- Carry out routine machinery maintenance proactively report any non-routine issues for repair
- Completion of all related paperwork for plant records, timesheet
- Carry out shredding operations if required in the absence of the shredder operator
- Report & record, in the appropriate logs, all accidents & incidents on the site
- Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
- Permanent, full-time role
- Salary: £13.00 per hour
