Reporting to the Works Superintendent you will responsible for ensuring that the works elements under your control are delivered to the correct quality and in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner. Working collaboratively with the wider project team to deliver successful project outcomes. Take the lead with front line supervisors from the supply chain to ensure our values are built into their culture and our objectives are achieved.
- Act as the primary point of contact for scaffolding works on the project.
- Coordinate scaffolding requirements between construction teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Review scaffold designs to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and statutory regulations.
- Monitor scaffold erection, alteration, and dismantling to ensure quality and safe systems of work.
- Ensure appropriate permits, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS) are in place before works commence.
- Carry out regular inspections of scaffolding to confirm ongoing compliance and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of scaffold use, inspections, handovers, and modifications.
- Liaise with subcontractors to manage manpower, equipment, and materials efficiently.
- Support the project team in resolving technical queries related to scaffolding.
Promote a positive safety culture and ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards
**Knowledge, Skills, and Experience**:
- Essential _
- Demonstrable experience coordinating scaffolding operations on large construction or industrial projects.
- Recognised scaffolding qualification (CISRS Supervisor/Manager, Advanced Scaffolder or equivalent).
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent management safety training.
- Strong working knowledge of scaffolding regulations (e.g., NASC TG20, SG4, Work at Height Regulations).
- Experience in reading and interpreting scaffold design drawings.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to liaise across multi-disciplinary teams.
- IT literacy for record-keeping, reporting, and permit systems.
- Desirable: _
- NEBOSH Construction or equivalent H&S qualification.
- Previous experience in major infrastructure, energy, or nuclear projects.
- Knowledge of temporary works procedures.
