**CAMHS Specialist Youth Worker (the exact job title will be agreed following further consultation with young people)**:

- £25,500 to £27,500 per annum (Salaries vary depending on experiences)

**Hours** - 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday (15 month Fixed Term Contract)

**Location** -Phoenix (formally Willow House, Wokingham)

**What You’ll Be Doing**:
We are currently looking for a Specialist Youth Worker to join our Children and Young People’s Services Team and work alongside the CAMHS Tier 4 In Patient teams (Tier 4 CAMHS hospitals deliver specialist treatment to young people with severe or complexmental health conditions who need intensive inpatient/‘out of hospital’ treatment). This is an exciting pilot project that Response has been commissioned to deliver on behalf of CAMHS. You will support young people to access community services to sustain theirrecovery and prevent relapse. Through being embedded within the wards/ unit teams, you would support existing interventions underway and support community integration for young people accessing inpatient and day services. You would develop a therapeutic relationshipthrough a flexible, personalised approach which encourages and nurtures hope and aspirations to enable young people to live as healthy and fulfilling a life as possible.

**Overall job responsibility**:

- Working with direct supervision by a CAMHS professional, or working alongside mental health practitioners as part of mental health treatment plan
- Providing personalised support to individuals, their families and carers to support the young people with using strategies to support their health and well
- being.
- Developing trusting relationships by giving people time and focus on what matters most to them to best support and sustain their health and well-being.
- Managing and prioritising a caseload, in accordance with the needs, priorities and any urgent support required by individuals on the caseload or as otherwise directed.
- Working with a diverse range of people and communities, to draw on and increase the strengths and capacities of local communities, enabling local third sector organisations and community groups (including faith groups) to successfully support young peoplewith specific support needs into their provision.
- Alongside other members of the CAMHS team, work collaboratively with all local diverse partners to contribute towards supporting the local third sector organisations and community groups to become sustainable and that community assets are nurtured, throughsharing intelligence regarding any gaps or problems identified in local provision with commissioners and local authorities.
- As Specialist Youth Workers, you will have a role in educating non-clinical and clinical staff within their teams on what other services are available within the community and how and when patients can access them. This may include verbal or written adviceand guidance.

Essential criteria:

- GCSE Maths and English, being IT literate due to the volume of paperwork required to be kept up to date.
- Experience of supporting young people, their families and carers in a related role.
- Experience of supporting young people with their mental health, either in a paid, unpaid or informal capacity.
- Experience of working directly in a community development context, CAMHS or CYP social care, learning support or public health/health improvement.
- Ability to drive and have access to own vehicle during working time, with frequent travel required for appointments.
