Tempest Ward is a Burns Intensive Care area within Morriston Hospital. We are the designated Burns Centre for Wales and the South West of England, covering a population of 10 million. We are currently looking for a ward receptionist to join our team on Tempest Ward. You would be an integral member of a closely knit group and provide essential support to the clinical staff. The role requires you to work closely with other receptionists and clerks in the Burns and Plastic Surgery Department. Your base would predominantly be on Tempest Ward but would also require you to work within the other Burn Wards and Outpatient area as cover.
To be effective in the role you would need a positive and enthusiastic outlook and have good organisational skills. As the first person visitors meet, you would need to be an effective and sympathetic communicator, have a flexible approach to work and enjoy contributing as a key part of our Multidisciplinary team. You will need good computer literacy as you will be expected to use the different IT systems in use by the Health Board and National Burns framework.
Knowledge of the Health Board’s processes and systems is desirable but training will be provided. Due to the nature of the role, working calmly whilst under pressure would be an essential personal quality. The ability to use your initiative is also essential as there will be occasions when new, novel approaches need to be used to solve problems.

communicate information to senior staff where necessary.

Typing of letters, memo, etc as requested by the Ward Manager.
