Firmware Engineer-2

The Firmware Engineer plays a critical role for our IoT edge intelligent embedded systems for vehicle telematics. This role will be responsible for the development of our next generation Dash Camera embedded software for devices incorporating high levels of SoC integration. This service oriented, scalable solution will support our evolving technologies in Advanced Driver Assistance, Driver Monitoring, Live View and real time telematics systems. The Firmware Engineer works as part of a solutions development team practicing New Product Introduction PDP and mature Agile-Scrum processes.
General Responsibilities
- Conducts analyses for designs, programs, debugs and modified software
- Handles analog and digital hardware and software operating systems
- Position requires knowledge and exposure to hardware design
- Conducts the programming of machine language, assembly language and high level languages
Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
- Knowledge in embedded software architecture and design for mobile devices with edge optimized Artificial Intelligence facilitated by a service-oriented solution stack.
- Experience in design and development of cellular based mobile IOT devices with highly integrated communications chipset and/or System on Modules.
- Driver development on bare metal. Android AOSP driver and kernel development.
- Experience with mobile video, image processing, camera technologies strongly desired
- Background in communications systems, wireless and wired protocols.
- Solid understanding of Agile-Scrum methods, and experience with Atlassian tools.
- Highly collaborative; responsible and accountable.
