**Role Objectives**

To build and mature a regulatory and conduct risk-aware culture within BHSF’s regulated entities. To support BHSF’s regulated entities in complying with the dynamic regulatory landscape set by the FCA, PRA, as well as internal policy standards.

To maintain an effective and efficient compliance framework across BHSF’s regulated entities, by designing programmes and leading the compliance team.

**Responsibilities**
- To act as a first point of contact for regulatory bodies including FCA, PRA and FOS. Dealing with general and complex queries from the regulatory authorities.
- Report quarterly to the Risk and Compliance Committee, detailing progress on the compliance plan, new compliance risks, a compliance risk assessment, and other items.
- Lead on regulatory challenge to the business strategy within FCA, and PRA regulated entities.
- Maintain the firm's Management Responsibilities Map and other governance tools; carry out the regulatory tasks required by the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR).
- Lead the compliance update in Risk and Compliance Committee meetings.
- To provide oversight of the Compliance function’s day-to-day activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of required regulatory reporting to include: RMAR (Retail Mediation Activities Return), Internal reports to the Board, ad-hoc regulatory requests, and other items.
- ** Ensure the compliance function provides advice and support to BHSF and its Senior Managers to perform activities set for the authorised person under approval of SM&CR.**:

- Respond to alleged breaches of regulations by the regulated firms, by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies/industry bodies and peer groups to ensure best compliance practice.
- Ensure compliance oversight and sign-off on customer documentation, marketing, and financial promotions as required by the FCA..
- Establish a compliance plan detailing regulatory changes, activities and resources that are applicable to BHSF.
- Ensure training is provided to the business on compliance and regulatory areas for all employees, Senior Managers, Executive Managers/Directors, and Non-Executive Directors.
- To oversee BHSF’s complaints process, including reporting to Senior Management, the Executive Committee and Board.
- Lead on the monitoring of operational impacts from the dynamic regulatory landscape; e.g. as set by the FCA, and PRA. Including:

- Timely and accurate review and interpretation of consultation papers (CP), policy statements (PS), and other publications.
- Determining impacted business areas and ensuring appropriate gap analysis is carried out with timely and compliant implementation of control actions.
- Work collaboratively with the People Success team to design and implement the regulated training programme including induction, annual and ongoing training requirements for employees, ad-hoc training requests, etc.
- Ensure Compliance provides support to the business in understanding compliance and regulatory matters, to include:

- Advising the Board on compliance with applicable regulations
- Identifying, and assessing regulatory and conduct risk.
- Ensure robust compliance policies, procedures, controls, and frameworks are designed, rolled out, embedded, and maintained.
- Facilitate regulatory change projects, compliance initiatives and support regulator visits.
- To lead, support and manage departmental staff productivity against the strategic plan objectives.
- To provide appropriate resourcing and organisation through performance management, appraisals, and staff development.
- Provides an operational budget for the department and monitors performance to ensure that this is met.
- To maintain courtesy, professionalism, and high standards of presentation in all communications with customers and potential customers
- To perform all tasks and duties when required providing flexibility and covering a team working environment

You must report data incidents in-line with Company Policy. You must understand and comply with obligations under the Company’s data protection, information security, GDPR, DPA and FCA regulations and other relevant policies.
- Operates within defined risk appetite levels, and within the context of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), Risk Strategy, and all associated policies.
- Ensure compliance with the company health and safety rules and requirements, ensuring own safety and that of colleagues at all times; raising risks identified immediately and following all health and safety instructions.
