We are currently seeking an LGV Driver to be based at our South Kirkby site in Wakefield. Reporting to the Transport Supervisor.
Shift pattern: 5 days out of 7 working and average of 38 hours per week.
Key Purposes of the Role
- Ensure a high level of health & safety of compliance and maintained at all times.
- Delivery of full service contract compliance.
- Assists in the delivery of a safe operation within the transfer station & operational areas
- Assist in the continuing operations and participating in maintaining vehicles and equipment
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that full service delivery complies with contractual commitments including service delivery plans, contract targets, client data and information and change protocols.
- Develop a good working relationship with the client representatives and employees
- Ownership of the SHEQ culture and behaviour for the contract.
- Ensures contract runs in compliance with internal and external safety / environmental / permit / planning processes and procedures, as well as any contract requirements.
- Ensure the timely completion of actions given by site management
- Operate LGV vehicles for the transportation of waste material to landfill
- Complete daily pre start checks on vehicles before operated
- Compliance with driver hours’ rules and transport legislation
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations
- Under take induction and training relevant to the post
- Develop a good working relationship with 3rd party off takers
- Ensure compliance with company standards
- Maintain a good standard of vehicle cleanliness
- Undertake vehicle wheel re torque on a weekly basis
- Attend operational meetings as and when required
- Ensure compliance with Defect report procedure
- Maintain robust documentation records
- Support colleagues and encourage a team working ethic
Experience, Education & Qualifications
Essential
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Nationally recognised Driver CPC driver Card
- Driver Digital tacho card
- Demands high standards of themselves and others and is able to translate this into high quality, high pace output.
- Ability to build and maintain strong, cohesive relationships at all levels.
- Basic understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Good organisation skills and the ability to forward plan making best use of time.
Preferable
- Experience in working in a waste management environment
- A.D.R Licence
- Knowledge of Renewi products and services
- Flexible to accommodate changes in service
