We have an exciting opportunity for you to come and join our friendly, dedicated and hardworking team as a Playgroup Assistant at the Four Oaks Preschool Playgroup.

We provide childcare to children aged 2 - 4 from all across Four Oaks, Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding areas. We are in partnership with Four Oaks Primary School, and are located on the same site in Edge Hill Road, Four Oaks.

Children are at the heart of everything we do. You will undertake all aspects of early years education and care supporting staff to plan and carry out all activities in order to create and develop a stimulating and safe environment for the children to develop their potential.

We are seeking a level 3 qualified Assistant to assist our Playgroup Manager and Team. You will fulfil legal and statutory requirements, contribute to and implement policies and procedures, and act as a key worker for a group of children and communicate / document progress on a regular basis with their parents.

This is a permanent role. Ideally, we would like the jobholder to join us ASAP.

Main Duties
- Under the direction of the Manager, to assist in the day to day running of the Playgroup, helping the children with planned activities, reading stories, singing songs and engaging in dialogue with them.
- To safeguard and protect the children at all times maintaining a safe environment, providing equipment that is safe and promoting high standards of hygiene at all times.
- To conduct Risk Assessments and follow COVID -19 procedures.
- To play a Keyworker role, contributing towards meeting individual children’s learning needs, within activity plans following the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- To organise the keeping of records which plan the next steps in their learning and play.
- To provide a learning journey book for each key child to show their development whilst in the setting.
- To ensure activities are conducted with due regard to Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and the well-being of the children.
- To attend staff meetings and planning sessions as required and undertake preparation work of activities as necessary.
- To keep confidential any information regarding children, their families or other staff members which is learned as part of the job.
- To be prepared to undertake further training as necessary or as determined by the Management Committee.
- To accompany children on trips away from Playgroup Premises, when required.
- To help make sure Playgroup is a happy, colourful and stimulating environment for the children.
- To make sure Playgroup is kept tidy, putting away equipment and cleaning equipment where necessary.
- To be aware of Data Protection GDPR and follow procedures.
- To undertake any other tasks as allocated by the Manager/Deputies Leadership Team.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

Pay: £11.60 per hour
