**Job Title**:Personal Assistant
**Start Date**:As soon as possible
**Responsible to**:Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer and her representative.
**Hours**:15Hours per week
**Work Pattern**:Monday between 10:30am - 15:30pm
Wednesday between 10:30am - 15:30pm
Friday between 10:30am - 15:30pm
Above, adjustable within reason
**Holidays**:5.6 Weeks pro rota, by mutual agreement.
Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the
Employer.
**Hourly rate of pay**:Single rate of £12.74 per hour at all times
**Based at**:Within the employer’s own home in Biddulph Moor and the community.
**Job Purpose**:To support a lady (employer) who has Multiple Sclerosis with tasks around the home environment.
The post requires someone who will offer the appropriate level of support, to enable this lady to enjoy activities and promote an independent lifestyle.
As this role is a Job Share, you will be expected to provide reciprocal cover Monday to Friday.
**Main Duties**:
**Personal Care**:Catheter care
**Medication**:Refer to medication sheet and record medication dispensed.
You will be required to help administer medication at lunchtime and afternoon from dispenser.
**Mobility**:Employer mobilizes with an electric wheelchair.
**Meal Provision**:Prepare evening meal.
Support the employer with preparation of meals at lunchtime and support with eating if required.
**Domestic Duties**:You will need to assist with tasks around the house i.e. cleaning all areas, shopping, washing & ironing.
**Social Support**:Support with using mobile phone & tablet device.
Privacy given if required
Support with writing i.e. Birthday & Christmas cards etc.
**To carry out other duties or activities connected with the role**
**which the employer may reasonable request.**
**Personal Specification**:
- Have experience of working with vulnerable adults.
- Flexible in the hours and times that you can work.
- Be patient and supportive.
- Be friendly and outgoing.
- Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
- Always promote choice.
- Be respectful of the employer’s dignity, at all times.
- Understand the need for privacy and confidentiality.
- You have a thorough understanding.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
- You should have some knowledge and understanding of risks.
- Have an awareness and knowledge of equal opportunities.
**Special Conditions**
Applicants should preferably have a full driving licence and eligible to drive the employer’s mobility vehicle, not essential but advantageous
You must tell your employer if the licence changes in any way that may affect this employment.
If you were to lose your licence this may lead to dismissal unless another suitable role became available within your employers home.
The post carries a 3 month probationary period.
