An exciting SEN Support Staff role has become available, working with a pupil in KS4 with SEMH needs and complex learning difficulties.
** SEN Support Staff
** SEMH Secondary School located in South Birmingham
** Long-term role, working full time
** SEN Support Staff position, starting immediately
** £400 - £450 per week
The SEN Support Staff Role:
As an SEN Support Staff, you will be working with a student in KS4 with complex learning needs, communication difficulties and SEMH needs. You will need to manage challenging behaviour firmly and build a strong rapport with the student. As an SEN Support Staff,you will also provide in-class learning support, assisting the teacher with classroom management. It is important that you monitor the behaviour and learning progress of the pupil you are supporting and feed this back to the SENCO.
The SEN Support Staff:
For this SEN Support Staff role, you must hold a Level 3 SEN Support Staff qualification, such as Supporting Teaching and Learning. You must also have extensive experience of working with high needs SEN, and have a patient, resilient personality to help youmanage the challenging behaviour. You should have a good understanding of additional needs, primarily Autism and ADHD, allowing you to support the needs of the individual.
The School:
This Alternative Provision located in South Birmingham caters for pupils in KS3 and KS4 with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and SEN that cannot be supported by a mainstream setting. There is a welcoming culture throughout the school. CPD is offered on aregular basis to ensure you are providing high-quality support consistently.
