**The position is based at our Plymouth site and will be required to work closely with the Marine Design Team, Project Managers and Design Director to provide and update electrical design build packs for marine production.**

Our Marine division are involved in the design and manufacture of electrical AC & DC control systems, electromechanical & digital switching systems, OEM hardware and software integration.

Our electrical design engineers are responsible for the generation of the electrical and mechanical design packs, ensuring that we meet the project technical, lead-time and commercial requirements and providing the information in a way that can be readily translated by our build teams.

**Roles and responsibilities**:

To support and provide assistance with:

- To supply electrical designs and support design team with amending and updating documentation, electrical, mechanical drawings.
- To setup and update master templates.
- To setup and update of project related build documentation.
- To setup electrical and mechanical designs and layouts.
- To support with the updating of EFN’s.
- To supply design of new products and support first builds.
- Be responsible for maintaining their own workload to ensure deadlines are met, whilst highlighting problems at the earliest opportunity (Drawing errors, build pack errors, EFN’s, QI’s, artwork, workflow errors etc).
- Respond to day-to-day queries and correspondence and escalate where necessary.
- Maintain and update filing and recording systems, both manual and electronic.
- Undertake photocopying, scanning and shredding of confidential papers as required.
- From time to time help out with the production build and test departments.

**Other activities**:

- To provide technical support to marine production department
- To assist with the technical information for sales with enquiries and the generation of quotations for new works
- Support future growth of the department by attending, taking ownership of actions arising from meetings
- Support other business units with electrical and mechanical support as required
- Keep work areas tidy and organised
- Competent user of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Visio & WorkFlow.
- Competent user of Draftsight, Corel, Gerber, AutoCad, SEE.
- A good understanding of the following:

- Electrical wiring symbols, engineering drawings
- General electrical/mechanical assembly good practice in line with various marine standards
- Highly organised.
