**Audit Apprentice**

Are you considering an apprenticeship programme?

Dains Accountants are recruiting an apprentice to join our highly successful and expanding Audit team, in Birmingham. You will be in a prime City centre location working and learning from talented professionals of all levels, including Directors and Partners.

**Q: WHAT IS AN APPRENTICESHIP?**

An apprenticeship programme allows you to learn while you earn. The programme is designed for you to gain real work experience whilst studying for a professional qualification.

**Q: WHAT QUALIFICATION WILL I STUDY?**

You will study a CFAB qualification.

ICAEW CFAB is a stand-alone certificate-level qualification.

The CFAB can be the start of your journey towards gaining the ICAEW, ACA qualification.

**Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?**

The CFAB course will take 18 months to complete, which you do whilst gaining vital commercial and professional experience working alongside Dains audit experts.

**Q: WHAT WILL I BE DOING?**

**What will my main responsibilities be?**
- To carry out client audit work under the direction of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior using the firm’s approach.
- To investigate and resolve problems arising during the audit under the supervision of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior.
- To gain familiarisation with the client’s internal reporting and control procedures.
- To ensure the work is recorded in a clear and concise manner and working papers are legible and well presented.
- To bring to the attention of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior anything which is not understood, or which is inconsistent with expectations.
- To provide ad-hoc support to other members of the audit department as required.

**Q: WHAT PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES DO I NEED?**
- Minimum Grade B in Maths and English Language at GCSE level or equivalent
- Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent organisational skills
- A positive, pro-active and willing attitude
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- A flexible approach to working
