Marketing Manchester has a new and exciting vacancy for a Digital Lead who will strategically create, develop and maintain digital platforms to promote Greater Manchester as a destination to visit; invest; meet; do business; study and live within key national and international markets. This senior level role will determine Marketing Manchester’s digital strategy and champion delivery of the strategy throughout the organisation and the wider Growth Company.
**Marketing Manchester** promotes Greater Manchester nationally and internationally as a place to visit, invest, meet and study. Our work is an essential component to successfully raise the profile of the city-region as the gateway to the North and improve global perceptions, city ranking and economic growth. Marketing Manchester also supports MIDAS, Greater Manchester’s inward investment agency, in the delivery of promotion focusing on priority sectors and campaigns including digital, innovation and green.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement a digital destination strategy to promote Greater Manchester as a destination to visit; invest; meet; do business; study and live on behalf of Marketing Manchester.
- Create and manage digital platforms and content (websites, social media, ad campaigns, video) in support of the digital destination strategy that succeeds in telling the story of Greater Manchester; maximises customer engagement and conversion and delivers a return on investment for partners and stakeholders.
- Development of digital platforms and strategy to support the Manchester Place Partnership.
- Lead, develop and implement an innovative and effective social media and content strategy, commissioning and producing content where necessary, which builds customer engagement, drives conversions and maximises the potential of our paid, owned and earned media.
- Working with Marketing Manchester, its stakeholders and partners across Greater Manchester and beyond to deliver national and international digital campaigns that change perceptions of Greater Manchester, drive conversions and provide a return on investment. To also advise on digital marketing and best practise to shape the digital elements of promotion of the destination.
- Development of digital campaign activity in support of the Manchester Accommodation BID.
- Successfully develop new commercial models, opportunities and strategic partnerships that increase revenue generation whilst also meeting partner and stakeholder requirements.
- Manage the digital team to maintain product knowledge, improve digital platforms and activity and develop intelligence in relation to industry trends, best practice, competitor analysis and current digital concepts.
- Take the lead in ensuring that digital activity delivered by both Marketing Manchester and partners follows the Manchester brand values and activity meets quality standards undertaking brand guardianship where applicable. Managing the narrative and responsibility for updating digital marketing materials as well as policing the use and driving consistency.
- Strategically lead the build/roll out and continued development of the Marketing Manchester CRM system to ensure that the objectives of the business plan are considered and met.

- Digital platform infrastructure and development technologies.
- Working with partners, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure digital activity is fit for purpose.
- Managing multi-platform development and campaigns within set budgets.
- Line management experience and project and budget management skills.
- A digital expert with a deep understanding of all things digital.
- Confident in communicating with different users and stakeholders.
**Skills Required**:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to think commercially and ability to assess company requirements and implement suitable digital technologies to meet company objectives within budget.
- Expertise in how to use digital channels to effectively communicate with audiences.
- Understanding customer journeys on digital platforms to ensure successful activity.
- Excellent understanding of the digital environment and new technologies.
- Research, analytical and good reporting and presentational skills.
**You will be based at the Head Office in Manchester with agile working options.**
