Simpson Judge are working with a profitable manufacturer based in Haydock, the company have grown significantly, have ambitious plans and are looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller. This is a newly created role and will look after a c.£30mdivision, manage a small team, oversee the Finance function and provide support to the CFO & Managing Director. There will be hybrid working and travel to another site required once a week.

**Responsibilities**:

- Financial control and reporting, interrogating and understanding the numbers
- Managing, motivating, and developing the Finance team
- Ensuring month end and year end reporting deadlines
- Posting journals
- Annual budget preparation, review & action improvements with operational managers
- Responsible for all tax requirements, including PAYE and VAT
- Main point of contact for external auditors. Ensure the audit is completed efficiently within agreed timescales
- Business partnering with Managing Director to support business growth
**Requirements**:

- Strong Financial & Management Accounting experience
- Commercially aware
- Excellent attention to detail & communication skills
- Team management experience
- Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong IT skills
