We offer microbiology and consumer and sensory science consultancy services, including: analytical testing, safety and spoilage, molecular and microbiology methods, emerging microbiology, brewing microbiology research, industrial heat process microbiology, quality lab audit, and sensory science

**Microbiology**:
**Position**:
To provide microbiological expertise to the areas of analytical testing.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant science degree + minimum 1 year’s laboratory experience or equivalent qualifications and experience
- Competent in working within the requirements of recognised quality systems e.g. UKAS. ISO9000
- Competent in working with spoilage organisms and food borne pathogens including knowledge of cell morphology, media, incubation times and temperature requirements
- Competent in data calculations and interpretation - able to explain approaches and train others
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to plan contract or research-based studies
- Good understanding of experimental design and ability to contribute/discuss ideas on test approaches for IPM contract work.
- Produce reports of experiments to the appropriate level of detail.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve routine and non-routine issues of increasing complexity, seeking advice from senior staff as required
- Escalate any issues to Project manager / Section lead in a timely manner
