**Job Purpose**

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive **Support Worker** to join our team. You will play a vital role in delivering emotional, practical, and therapeutic support to young girls with complex needs. You’ll support them in building life skills, accessing essential services, and navigating the challenges they face, all within a trauma-informed and person-centred framework.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people and provide personalised, person-centred support.
- Actively safeguard and promote the protection of the young people in your care
- Support young people in managing issues related to trauma, self-harm, eating disorders, and mental health.
- Offer emotional and practical support to victims of sexual violence, exploitation, and abuse, referring to specialist services where necessary.
- Promote healthy routines and lifestyles, including sleep, hygiene, exercise, and nutrition.
- Support residents with budgeting, cooking, education, employment, and accessing benefits.
- Accurately maintain records of young people’s progress, risk factors, and relevant incidents.
- Ensure full compliance with safeguarding procedures, health and safety protocols, and Ofsted guidelines.
- Actively participate in team meetings, supervisions, and ongoing training to maintain high standards of care and professional development.

**Skills & Experience Required**

**Essential**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and supportive in crisis situations.
- Good IT skills and competent in record-keeping and risk assessment.
- Empathy and a non-judgmental attitude towards young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a social care or support setting.
- Fluency in English.
- Legal right to work in the UK.

**Desirable**:

- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- Experience working with asylum-seeking young people.
- Knowledge of Ofsted standards for supported accommodation.
- Training in trauma-informed care, mental health first aid, or domestic abuse response.

**Setting**
- Residential home (in-person role)

**Education**
- A-Level or equivalent (preferred)

**Contract**
- Bank/zero hour (with potential to go on contracted hours following successful 3-month probation period)
