In your new role as a Catering Assistant, you will prepare food such as vegetables for the chefs, load meals onto trolleys in a timely manner. You will ensure the kitchen is well maintained, i.e. stock rotation, recording fridge temperatures etc, and undertake cleaning duties adhering to COSHH guidelines. You will also provide cover to another customer site within a reasonable geographical distance and with reasonable notice due to business requirements. Inform local management teams of any defects in equipment and/or premises not meeting Health & Safety and/or Food Hygiene Regulations Standards. Undergo on and off the job training sessions as required by line management. Undertake any other duties that may be required for the effective operation of the Catering establishment; including cash collection and banking.

In your new role as a Kitchen Assistant, you will be expected to maintain a clan and tidy kitchen, all stores and cloakrooms. You must ensure pot-wash and sink areas are kept clean and all utensils are washed and correctly stored according to company procedure. You must ensure all food and non-food waste is correctly disposed as well as keeping bins and refuse areas clean and tidy. You will be expected to help store food deliveries as well as helping witch cooking when required. You will be an important element is maintain a safe working environment.

As well as this you may also be required for the following:

- Wash dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, serving utensils, containers, tables and all other catering equipment in the dining and service areas; launder kitchen towels as necessary.
- Clean on a daily basis all catering areas to agreed standards.
- Undergo on and off the job training sessions as required by line management.
- Inform local management teams of any defects in equipment and/or premises not meeting Health & Safety and/or Food Hygiene Regulations Standards.
- Assist in the maintenance of all records, systems and procedures to ensure control of stocks and conformity with financial regulations and procedures.

**Qualifications**

In order to be successful in this role you will be a strong communicator and have a good standard of numeracy and literacy. You will be prepared to work in an environment that can have chilled, hot or noisy conditions. You will also be prepared to undertake manual handling and some heavy lifting with duties of the role. Basic food hygiene and health and safety certificates are advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided. Previous Kitchen Assistant/KP experience in a similar environment would also be desirable. You must be hard working, energetic and confident with exceptional organisation skills and a good eye for detail.
