_Medicines Counter Assistant_
**Birk and Nagra Chemists are looking to recruit a Medicines Counter Assistant to join our team within the local Leamington and Warwick area.**

Part-time, permanent position; working Saturdays 09:00-13.00 at our Whitnash branch.

**The Role**

The medicines counter assistant (MCA) is a key member of the pharmacy team. You are the first person many customers will see when coming into the pharmacy, speak to when seeking healthcare advice and interact with when collecting/ordering a prescription or asking for help when they wish to purchase a medicine.

As an MCA you will provide advice to patients on a wide range of ailments and appropriately sell over-the-counter medicines to patients and handle prescriptions within the pharmacy. As part of the pharmacy team you work under the supervision of a responsible pharmacist who is always available should you need to refer a patient or seek advice.

We are looking for applicants who have good general retail skills, who are friendly and enjoy providing consistent and excellent customer service. If not already completed, you will be enrolled on the National Pharmacy Association course, which we expect you to complete in the first 12 months of your employment. Any advice and support is supplemented through your day-to-day work with your fellow pharmacists and colleagues.

**Requirements**:

- Pharmacy MCA (**but not essential as we will provide training)**
- Friendly and customer focused
- Able to work proficiently within a team and individually
- Excellent communication skills
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Self-motivated and able to prioritise workload
- Conduct and carry out multiple tasks in an efficient and effective manner
- Flexibility to work in different branches
- Computer skills (necessary for stock maintenance)
- Willingness to comply with Pharmacy regulation training and up-skill
