**Salary**: £21,703.54 to £23,906.01pa depending on experience
**Hours**: 35 hours per week between Monday and Friday 9-5
**Contract**: Permanent
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Multidisciplinary Advocate to join our inspiring and friendly Advocacy team.
Our team provides a range of specialist advocacy services (under the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act) to adults and children who are facing important decisions that impact on their quality of life and independence or have long-term implications. In homes, care homes, hospitals, local communities and secure settings, we empower people by helping them voice their opinions and feelings, stand up for their rights and access the services they need. And if they don’t feel able or lack the capacity to do this, we will represent their interests and speak up on their behalf, so their views and concerns are heard.

How will you make a difference?
As a Multidisciplinary Advocate you will provide a high quality, responsive and effective advocacy service in accordance with the service specification, contract and legislative timescales. You will ensure that individuals understand and can exercise their rights; supporting people to access information, to understand better what is happening, what is planned, and the options available to them to make better informed decisions and be more involved in their care and support.
You will also ensure the client’s communication needs have been assessed and where possible communicate with the client to ascertain their wishes and views, thereafter to communicate with individuals and other agencies, representing the clients’ views, whilst keeping the client informed of progress of their issue. This will include representing patients’ interests when they are not able to do so themselves.

What are we looking for?
To successfully deliver in this role you will be able to demonstrate practical experience in providing advocacy services in similar role and have or currently working towards the National Qualification in Independent Advocacy (Level 3 or new Level 4).
**You will**:
be willing to work towards additional specialist units in the national advocacy qualification (e.g. IMCA, DoLS, IMHA, ICAA, Independent Advocacy for CYP and Health Complaints0
be committed to completion of required qualifications within set timescales
have experience of working with individuals with learning disability, mental health etc for example as a Support Worker or volunteer.
have a good understanding of advocacy practice and principles of empowerment and knowledge of relevant legislation through experience or research
**You may also have**:
experience of providing advocacy to Children & Young People / completion of specialist CYP training
