**Role purpose**:
The Production Assistant is a vital link in the production team and works closely with the producer, director and production team. The production assistant supports the director or producer and is involved in all stages of the production process (from pre-production through to post-production and distribution) to ensure film productions run smoothly.

The role is technical, creative and administrative: the production assistant will research stories, explore funding opportunities, liaise with distribution partners and maintain production records.

This role will work across three organisations:

- Springtail Productions (not for profit) - distribution of the film and impact
- the legal entity of the film
- the production company behind the film

**Key responsibilities**:

- Research live and potential film project topics, collate salient story and data points then report back
- Support social media content creation (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook & LinkedIn) to promote film production activities
- Assist on location film pre-production, production and post-production activities
- Liaising with writers, artists' agents, members of the public, and publicity staff
- Coordinating and communicating production resources and filming location arrangements
- Attending and co-ordinating planning meetings
- Checking copyright and permission issues
- Ensuring royalties are paid for additional images, music or footage used
- Dealing with artists' payments and expenses
- Managing contracts with external organisations & H&S processes
- Booking catering, transport, accommodation, equipment and flights for performers and crew

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £150.00 per day

Expected hours: 24 per week
