An exciting opportunity has arisen for an assistant psychologist to join our established inpatient multidisciplinary team at The Brighton and Hove Clinic, a specialist eating disorder unit for children and adolescents.

It is a Tier 4 service supporting young people with severe and complex eating disorders that have not responded to community treatment approaches. The Brighton and Hove Clinic receive referrals from NHS CAMHS Tier 3 and Tier 4 Services.In this role, youwill be required to contribute to a clinical psychology service within the multidisciplinary eating disorder team and to contribute to the provision of a comprehensive high quality clinical psychology service across the unit. As an assistant psychologist youwill assist in the development and facilitation of therapy groups, contribute to the psychological assessment of patients and the development of meaningful of clinical formulations.

Under clinical supervision, you also be responsible for the collection of standardised outcome measures and feedback from patients and parents, and use this to inform completion of KPI reports and service development initiatives. You will receive weeklyindividual supervision, and also attend AHP meetings and group supervision

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- To assist in the development, delivery and evaluation of group interventions (e.g. joiners group, psychoeducation groups, cognitive-behaviour therapy groups)
- To support the administration and facilitation of the parent support group with the systemic family therapist
- To offer patient key work sessions to support implementation of therapeutic strategies guided by individual psychological formulation and the therapeutic intervention and approach of qualified clinical psychologist
- To support patients during meal times and to provide post meal distraction and support
- To administer, score and input standardised outcome measures on patient admission, mid-way through admission and discharge. To also collect regular feedback from patients and parents
- To attend multidisciplinary meetings and provide summaries of assessment measures to inform individualised formulations and guide evidence based interventions
- To administer, score and evaluate patient and parent outcome measures on admission, mid-way through admission and discharge
- To contribute to data collection related to audit and KPI quarterly reporting procedures
- To attend weekly supervision, psychology meetings and group supervision

This list of key responsibilities is not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake other relevant and appropriate duties as reasonably required.

**To be successful in this role, you'll need**
- Honours degree in psychology, 2.1 or above
- Eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
- Undergraduate research experience
- Theoretical knowledge of Eating Disorders
- Experience working with people with mental health difficulties, ideally within a CAMHS or eating disorders setting
- High-level communication skills including an ability to communicate and work in settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotive
- An ability to organise data collection and analysis for service evaluation projects. Confident in spreadsheet and data analysis, using excel, PowerPoint and SPSS.
- Ability to work independently, reliably, and consistently with work agreed and managed at regular intervals.
- Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively.
