About the role
As an Operational Support Team Member at Sellafield Limited you will play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of nuclear facilities. Working closely with operational teams you will help to implement and maintain essential processes to ensure adherence to strict regulatory and safety standards. This role involves providing technical and logístical support to resolving operational issues.
We have opportunity for individuals to join us in entry level and more senior positions.
For entry level positions, you may have limited operational experience delivering more routine requirements. Key challenges include adapting to changing regulations, managing multiple tasks simultaneously and supporting continuous improvements.
More senior positions require experience in an operational team, in this position you will be expected to lead on activities with less direct supervision and support continuous improvement initiatives. Key challenges include adapting to changing regulations, managing multiple tasks simultaneously and supporting continuous improvements.
There are also opportunities for individuals with extensive operational experience. You will be a senior team member taking a lead on key process or acting as the lead for safety or regulatory topic areas as well as coaching and supporting other team members. You may be required to carry out line management responsibilities in some roles. Key challenges include adapting to changing regulations, managing multiple tasks simultaneously and contributing to continuous improvements.
Your skills and qualifications
For entry level positions, the following is required:
- Demonstrable experience of understanding standards and procedures in operational environments.
- Demonstrable experience of planning and organising work against a defined scope.
- Demonstrable experience of engagement with stakeholders on the facility.
The following is also desirable:
- Demonstrable experience in/or supporting operations.
- Demonstrable experience of engagement with a range of internal stakeholders outside of the facility.
- Demonstrable experience of interpreting data to solve problems.
- Demonstrable experience of holding a nominated role e.g., POW, asbestos coordinator etc.
For more senior positions, the following is required:
- Demonstrable experience in/or supporting operations in industries such as transport, production, manufacturing, logistics and acting as a decision maker where appropriate.
- Demonstrable experience in leading a task/team or a significant piece of work.
- Demonstrable experience of engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience of interpreting complex data to solve problems.
- Demonstrable experience of holding a nominated role e.g., POW, asbestos coordinator etc.
- Demonstrable experience in providing continuous improvement.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering operations support in facilities of various complexities.
- Demonstrable experience of acting as a role model e.g., coaches/mentors team members within and outside their own facility.
