Leading Insurance company seeks a Data Engineer / Data Architect to play a key role in the engineering work related to a major digital transformation programme, focussed on the migration of data architecture from a fragmented landscape (SAS, SQL Server, Oracle)into a unified Azure Data Services environment.
Working within a significant team the Data Engineer / Data Architect will use their previous experience of migrating multiple data sources into the Azure Data Services cloud environment from an engineering perspective. This will encompass the configurationand deployment of data driven environments, contributing to the evolution of the enterprise data model, using contemporary Azure Data Services incorporating Data Bricks, Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Data Vault/Kimbal.
The Data Engineer / Data Architect will also be responsible for developing ETL pipelines using a range of languages, tools and techniques including SQL, PySpark and Spark SQL, JSON, XML and MongoDB. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholdersas well as BI Analysts undertaking data modelling and dimensional modelling work to understand their data engineering requirements and deliver appropriate back end data service infrastructure.
We are searching for a Data Engineer / Data Architect / Data Analyst who possess expert level experience with SQL and previous experience of delivering multiple data sources into the Azure Data Services Cloud environment. You will be familiar with Data Bricks,Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Data Vault/Kimball and aware of Data Modelling, Dimensional Modelling. You will be comfortable building ETL Pipelines and working closely with stakeholders. Excellent technical capabilities required ideally combined with strongcommunication skills.
12 month contract, Inside IR35 with preference for Hybrid working (2 days in office per week) but this can be offered on a fully remote basis with the requirement for occasional, sporadic attendance at company HQ in Bournemouth, Dorset.
