We are working with a wealth management firm based in Wigan who are looking to add a Senior Paraplanner to team. Salary is based on experience.
**General Responsibilities**:
- Comply with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and the relevant FCA rules at all times
- Comply with the relevant compliance, TCF, T&C and, financial crime (anti-money laundering, data security, anti-bribery, fraud and corruption) procedures of the firm at all times
- Keep up to date with all relevant product, legislative and technical changes, as required
- Follow appropriate ethical standards within the firm at all times
- Ensure all dealings with clients are carried out in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain all standards of performance as required by the company
- Such other takes as may be considered appropriate or necessary by management
- Take part in any training offered by the company as deemed necessary or relevant to your role or your own personal development for the benefit of the role
- Be a team player and assist with the development of other team members
- Once in receipt of a completed 'fact find’, and client meeting sheet collate all the relevant quantitative detailed information required to compile a financial services report.
- Check all paperwork / information is available to ensure that the client file meets the FCA’s rules and requirements.
- Discuss the client’s needs and objectives with the relevant adviser.
- Undertake research to identify suitable solutions to meet the client’s needs and objectives.
- Prepare information for analysis by the adviser.
- If applicable, liaise with the client’s legal and tax advisers.
- Prepare draft recommendation report.
- Discuss draft recommendation report with the relevant adviser.
- Prepare Cashflow report where relevant
- Obtain 'sign-off’ by the relevant adviser.
- Prepare suitability reports in accordance with the agreed recommendations.
- Ensure all compliance paperwork is in order.
- If relevant, act on any changes made by the client.
- Act as main point of contact and deal effectively with queries from clients and other parties.
- Establish and build strong relationships with clients.
- Review investment portfolio, asset allocation, risk profile etc.
- Assist with annual rebalance of model portfolios
**Qualifications and knowledge**:
**Essential**:
- Diploma in Financial planning
- Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- Accurate with good attention to detail
- Excellent time management
- Excellent IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Detailed knowledge of the FCA’s rules and requirements
- Broad knowledge of the financial services sector
- At least 3 years within an IFA environment
- Team player
- Self-motivation
- Desire to progress within company
**Desirable**:
- Chartered Financial Planner or willingness to work towards this
- Experience of using Intelligent Office
- Experience of using Virtual Cabinet
- Experience of using Wrap platforms i.e. Standard Life
- Experience of Cashflow modelling
