**Locum Childcare Solicitor - Remote Working - up to £55 per hour umbrella - 3-6 Months - Home Counties**

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with an established **Local Authority** in the **Home Counties Region**who are recruiting for a **Locum Childcare Solicitor** to join their department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Solicitor, Barrister to become part of a forward thinking, proactive Local Authority.

Duties may include:

- Managing a busy and varied caseload of Childcare cases to include all pre-proceedings
- Advising at LPM and PLO meetings
- Performing own advocacy including contested and final hearings
- Advising client departments on complex issues concerning Childcare law
- Providing Childcare Public Law advice and undertake all aspects of Care Proceedings work
- Attending and advise at meetings across the County attended by professionals, particularly Legal Planning Meetings and PLO meetings and other similar meetings as directed by the Principal Lawyer and/or Assistant Chief Legal Officer
- Conducting advocacy before the Family Courts and instruct counsel and the Council's in-house advocates where appropriate as well as preparation of cases
- Ensuring that decisions made by the client department are lawful and accord with County Council policy
- Maintaining an awareness of all relevant legislation, policy and regulations related to childcare matter
- Investigating and advising on implications of changing legislation, case law and codes of practice and policy and provide briefing notes and training for colleagues and client officers.
