**SALARY**:£300 - £400 per Day (Outside IR35)

**LOCATION**:Hybrid working from the office, home and onsite. Initially you will be expected to work from the office and onsite with potential projects covering Birmingham, Warwickshire and Milton Keynes, so you must be prepared to travel whenrequired.

**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Environmental Consultant / Sustainability Advisor with experience in an environmental role within the construction sector and a good understanding of UK Policy, environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.

Working as an Environmental Consultant / Sustainability Advisor you will work on a major and high-profile project within a team based in the Midlands. However, you must also be available to travel to around the Midlands area to construction sites for meetingsassociated with the project.

As an Environmental Consultant / Sustainability Advisor you will join a well-established and proven business, working with some of the biggest companies within the electricity distribution sector, understanding that success depends on its people and arewilling to invest in individuals who show the right skill set and attitude.

**DUTIES**

Your duties as an Environmental Consultant / Sustainability Advisor will include:

- Oversee and coordinate the environmental aspects of multiple construction projects
- Sustainability reporting
- Production and review of Environmental Management Plans and method statements
- Undertake Environmental site inspections and audits
- Provide environmental advice and input into project design, legal compliance and construction to contractors and the team
- Attend client and subcontractor meetings
- Provide environmental assurance role including regular site inspections and ensuring that works meet legal and project requirements and standards
- Environmental Administration and data management
- Coordinate and manage a variety of specialist environmental assessments and surveys
- Identify and obtain necessary consents required

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline
- Experience in an environmental role within the construction sector
- Experience of working on high compliance schemes, such as Crossrail or HS2
- A good understanding of UK Policy, environmental legislation, regulatory frameworks
- Experience of management of subcontractors
- Experience of management of programs of environmental deliverables
- Experience in the planning process and dealing with local authorities and the Environment Agency
- Experience of environmental and sustainability data reporting
- Experience in basic GIS
- Excellent IT skills - specifically databases and Excel
- Confident with an ability to communicate at all levels in a fast-paced environment
- Good team player, can do attitude
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM) or the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) would be preferred but is not essential
