We are a company working with a number of the biggest insurance companies in the country on domestic and commercial fire and flood insurance claims. We are looking to add to our growing company in our têxtile facility.

Job description

40 hours per week - shift pattern between the hours of 7am and 3 pm.

**Overview**

As a têxtile & contents cleaner, you will be responsible for all aspects of cleaning damaged têxtiles and contents to a highest standard. The contents received have normally been damaged by fire and/or water and you would be required to clean anything from clothing, leather goods, handbags, shoes, soft toys, curtains etc. This role is crucial in restoring damaged content and returning the content back to the client. You will become a certified user of our wash system.

**Your day-to-day tasks may include**:

- Use our iCare system and Validation Price List to produce a full list of items to be cleaned, and their replacement costs. Photos will be taken of every item.
- Check items for type of damage, taking photos of pre existing damage and sort them according to colour and fabric type.
- Identify items which are beyond cleaning or restoring.
- Tag the articles with tickets for easy identification.
- Treat heavy stains before cleaning.
- Load content into machines or arrange for the content to be cleaned by a third party as appropriate.
- Select the right programme for the fabric and the amount of soiling.
- After washing, ensure that the content has been cleaned and no further damage has been made from the cleaning process.
- Utilise drying room and tumble dryer to dry contents to appropriate condition prior to finishing.
- Finishing may include folding, ironing or utilising specialist finishing equipment such as conditioners, polish etc
- Pack the content to be returned cleaned to a high standard back to customers.
- Keep the work areas clean and tidy
- Complete any necessary paperwork
- Ensure working to the KPI’s set by the Content Supervisor

- The ability to operate machinery and follow instructions
- Working independently with little supervision
- Ability to work to tight deadline without compromising the quality.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
- Previous Laundry experience is an advantage for this role
