Housing First Team

The TPS Housing First Team will enable people to maintain independent tenancy sustainment, reconnect with their local communities and assist them to build their resilience to prevent repeat homelessness. TPS respond to the individual needs of those who are experiencing homelessness or at the risk of becoming homeless, including those who are rough sleeping, or are in temporary or permanent accommodation.

We believe that a home is a human right and that an individual is best placed to deal with the issues that made them homeless in the first place, in a place they can call home. Housing First is an approach which moves away from the staircase model of support where people have to prove they are ready for a house. Housing First flips this on its head and supports people who are experiencing Homelessness and have multiple and enduring support needs, directly into a tenancy of their choice.

Support and Connect Team

This small team is an innovative approach looking to develop a ‘Whole System’ approach to support people experiencing Homelessness, at risk of Homelessness or need some support to protect their tenancy. We will be delivering a number of co-production workshops with partners in the south west of Fife to understand what connections with the service exist, what’s working, what isn’t, what can be adapted and where the gaps are. The co-production will decide if we require to recruit mental health workers, housing support workers, alcohol and other drug workers, community connectors or any other post that will help us to achieve a Whole System approach.

All the people we support have their own stories and it is important that you are someone who truly understands this. They can have a wide range of issues and need our support and guidance to empower them to get on the right path. You and the team will put the building blocks in place to support them to move onto their forever home.

Your ability to work on your own initiative, manage and prioritise a busy work schedule and demonstrate attention to detail is essential. With your excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills along with experience of working in a proactive and flexible way will support our team in delivering the Care and Support in the community.
