**Salary**: £12.45 per hour
**Hours**: Part Time - Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0930-1600).
**Duration**:This post is initially available for 12 months. Contracts are reviewed annually.
We are seeking a part time administrator to join our team. The role will based at The Bay Foodbank, Meadow Well Way, North Shields, NE29 6BA.
The postholder will be responsible for the day to day administrative duties of the organisation. This primarily involves the receipt of referrals, as well as the undertaking of general office based tasks to ensure that the charities processes run smoothly. Full training and induction provided.

**About Us**:
The Bay Foodbank is a fully independent charity established in 2012. We aim to help those experiencing food insecurity. From our base in North Shields we provide emergency food parcels to clients across North Tyneside. Alongside this we support a range of school breakfast clubs and run a food waste reduction programme.
We’re seeking a dedicated and organised Foodbank Administrator to join the team. A comprehensive induction and training programme will form your introduction to the role.
**Job Overview**:
The Foodbank Administrator will play a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the foodbank by managing and processing referrals. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping those in need. With support from the existing team you will form a critical part of our work tackling food insecurity in North Tyneside.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Data Management**: Maintain and update client and referral data to ensure all information is accurate and current.
- **Client Interaction**: Communicate with clients and referral partners to confirm eligibility, provide information about services, and address any inquiries or concerns.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with the foodbank team to ensure smooth operations and timely processing of referrals.
- **Compliance**: Ensure all referral processing and client interactions adhere to organisational policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and privacy laws.
**Experience**:
Previous experience in administration, social services, or a similar role is preferred.
**Skills**:
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook)
- Experience with data entry
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding of diverse backgrounds and needs
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks

Pay: £12.45 per hour
Expected hours: 19.5 per week
**Education**:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
