**Veterinary Receptionist / Pet Care Adviser - Ipswich**

Ipswich Veterinary Centre and Pets Place are currently looking for diligent, hard-working and trustworthy members of staff to join their front of house Reception/Pet Care Adviser team.

**Overview**

The position involves undertaking a wide range of reception, shop and administrative duties. The ideal applicant will have experience in a similar role and be confident on the telephone.

This is a busy and engaging role, so applicants will need to be able to remain calm when working under pressure.

**Role**

As a member of our team, you’ll consistently ensure that all our customers have a positive experience during every visit. Whether you’re the friendly face on the till, or advising them on the shop floor, or helping over the telephone, or sharing your animal care knowledge, or ensuring our displays are always as they should be, or stocking shelves so everything’s easy to find, you’ll be as efficient and helpful as possible so that our customers want to keep coming back.

You’ll have the opportunity to continually improve your performance through constant learning and development and, of course, you’ll have lots of contact with animals on a daily basis.

**Working Times**

Full-time - flexible hours between 08:00 to 20:00 and working 1 in 3 weekend days. Part-time hours may also be considered.

Flexibility is essential for this role and to have the ability to assist with absence cover for other team members.

**Responsibilities**
- Liaising with the clients and clinical staff to ensure effective customer service
- Scheduling appointments
- Managing telephone enquiries and meeting and greeting
- Dispensing medication
- Ringing clients to obtain payment for services and products
- Cash management
- Ensuring the pet shop is clean and tidy with careful rotation of stock
- Opening and closing procedures

**Essential Skills / Experience**
- Receptionist - 1 year or more
- Customer facing - 1 year or more
- Retail - advantageous
- A keen interest in animals

**Package**
- This is full time, permanent position
- Shifts are between the hours of 08:00 to 20:00
- Working 1 in 3 weekend days
- Salary dependent upon experience
