We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Early Intervention Officer to join our team in Enfield on a full-time temporary ongoing basis. The Early Interventions Officer will be a part of a team working to improve homelessness prevention, reduce temporary accommodation and work towards ending street homelessness. The Early Intervention Officer will provide housing options to those at risk of homelessness, and engage in early intervention community outreach. This role requires in-depth knowledge of housing legislation, policies, and procedures, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Please note that this role requires a full enhanced DBS certificate.
**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably within housing options, homelessness prevention, or social housing
- Experience making Section 184 decisions
- Passionate about customer service and deliver an excellent service to all
- Knowledge of housing legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Homelessness Reduction Act
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience defending homeless cases in court, with positive outcome
- Enhanced DBS check

Role Expectations
- Assess Housing Needs: Conduct thorough assessments of individuals to determine their housing needs and eligibility for different housing options
- Provide Housing Advice: Offer accurate and up-to-date advice on housing options, working to avoid homelessness and securing long-term accommodation
- Communicate with external partners, including local authorities, housing associations, support agencies, and landlords
- Communicate with residents and help to resolve any issues identified
- Engage in early intervention community outreach, identifying those dealing with or at risk of homelessness and proving support
- Maintain Records: Accurately record all interactions, assessments, and decisions in line with relevant policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality and data protection guidelines are strictly followed
- Represent and defending homeless cases in court where necessary, specifically in relation with illegal evictions
