Sen Teaching Assistant
We are working with a SEN primary school based just outside of Norwich and are looking for a number of SEN TAs to support this school from October half term.
The pupils in this school are aged 4-11 and all have a diagnosis of some form of complex learning difficulty including Autism, SEMH and PMLD. As a result of these needs there is lower-level learning than a traditional school and a higher level of nurturesupport. The pupils who are college age have a curriculum based around independent living and life skills.
Due to their additional needs the pupils present behaviours that require a higher level of support which you as the Learning Support Assistant would be helping to provide.
To be successful, you must:
- Have 6 months experience working in special needs as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Nursery Nurse
- Be knowledgeable on how to successfully manage behaviour linked to Autism, Mental Health Needs and Learning Difficulties
- Have completed a Degree or Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant Qualification
- Be able to quickly engage and build rapport with pupils
- Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered to the Update Service, or be willing to complete one through GSL Education
- Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who leads by example
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. Please see faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
