We are seeking a permanent deputy designated safeguarding officer to start in September 2025, to work closely with and under the direction of the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead. The role is for 25 hours per week, term time only. Times and days can be discussed at interview.

The role will involve supporting our designated safeguarding lead with managing safeguarding in our school. This may include some or all of the following:

- Responsibility for safeguarding children and child protection (including online safety) ensuring that the school is meeting its legal statutory requirements as laid out in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2021.
- To be responsible for liaising with local statutory children’s services and agencies and with the key

local Safeguarding partners.
- Taking part in discussions and inter agency meetings to contribute to the assessment of children.
- To manage internal and external referrals.
- To provide support, advice, and guidance to other staff on child welfare, safeguarding and child protection matters.

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and paid annual leave entitlement for an employee under 5 years’ service.

Keeping Children Safe in Education

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
