Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. As an Optical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting optometrists and opticians in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with patient examinations, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service.

**Duties**:

- Assist optometrists and opticians in conducting eye examinations and vision tests
- Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing and arranging equipment
- Take patient medical history and record relevant information
- Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception
- Educate patients on proper contact lens insertion, removal, and care
- Assist with frame selection and fitting of eyeglasses
- Maintain inventory of eyeglass frames, contact lenses, and other optical supplies
- Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses
- Clean and maintain optical instruments and equipment

**Experience**:

- Previous experience as an Optical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of ocular anatomy and physiology is required
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures for lens fabrication is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £11.00-£11.42 per hour

Expected hours: 14 per week
