**About the Role**
**Base Location**: Inverness
**Salary**: £25,703 - £29,879 depending on skills and experience + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
**Working Pattern**: Permanent | Full Time | 37 hours per week with Flexible First options available.
SSE Power Distribution is part of the SSE group which owns and operates two electricity distribution networks and one transmission network, comprising of some 123,000 substations and 127,000 kilometres of underground cables and overhead lines and delivers power to 30% of the UK's landmass, serving 3.5 Million customers. The team being part of OPG carries out statutory surveying & inspection of the overhead and underground network to ensure Environmental Safety Quality and Continuity Regulations (ESQC Regulations) compliance.
Your role will be to walk and survey overhead lines as well as inspect assets within distribution substations recording information on a hand - held GPS device to ensure the quantity of overhead and underground assets inspected are kept to the planned target. The information you collate will be accurate to ensure we comply with Health and Safety Regulations and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures. You'll also be committed to working safely at all times. You'll identify and implement innovative and effective business improvements.
**What do I need?**
- Willingness to travel, Driving License essential.
- Ability to work independently, often lone working.
- Willingness to work outside in all seasons, with an ability to read schematics / maps.
- Knowledge of ESQCR.
- Electrical Knowledge.
Safety is one of our key priorities, so you should have the ability to risk assess activities throughout your working day and to work within our Health and Safety guidelines. Due to the nature of this role you must have the ability to work flexibly to meet business requirements. You'll possess excellent customer service, organisational and problem-solving skills and enjoy working outdoors in all conditions and have knowledge of map reading. This role can be physically demanding, so a basic level of fitness is required.
Although based in your local area, you may reasonably be required to work anytime and anywhere within the country to service business demands so a driving license is essential.
