This is an exciting role to lead on the Continuity of Carer teams and to support in the ongoing development of the service.

The post holder will be responsible for the 24 hour management and clinical leadership of the Continuity of Carer (CoC) teams supporting the MDT of staff in both acute and primary care settings. She / he will be expected to provide high quality; women centred care in an efficient / effective manner The post holder in collaboration with other team members will be responsible for the continued implementation of the recommendations of Better Births.

The Continuity of Carer team offer care for women to havea named midwifery team throughout their pregnancy.

As a team we care about building trusting relationships with women to ensure a positive experience throughout their maternity journey.

They post holder will lead a defined team of band 5&6 midwives, and maternity support workers, team build, organise others in their actions and set priorities, objectives and goals within their sphere of responsibility. They will be expected to performance manage both the activity and members of their team as required through the robust annual appraisal mechanism and HR processes.

Although staff will rotate through the unit and day to day management of them will be required.

Lead by example, demonstrating a proven record of sound leadership, courtesy and diplomacy, when dealing with colleagues and the general public.

Represent the service at local, regional and national level.

- This is an exciting role to lead the Continuity of Carer (CofC) and traditional teams and to support in the establishment of new CofC teams at our trust.
- The post involves strategic and management focused responsibilities whilst teams are established and embedded into the service. Alongside this are some clinical expectations.
- The post holder will be responsible for the 24 hour management and clinical leadership of the CofC teams supporting the MDT of staff in both acute and primary care settings. She/he will be expected to provide high quality women centred care in an efficient and effective manner and develop policies that optimise recruitment to the provision of CofC in collaboration with relevant stake-holders.
- The post holder, in collaboration with other teammembers, will be responsible for the continued implementation of the recommendations ofBetter Births.
- Lead a defined team of band 5&6 midwives and maternity support workers, team build, organise others in their actions and set priorities, objectives and goals within their sphere of responsibility. They will be expected to performance manage both the activity and members of their team as required through the robust annual appraisal mechanism and HR processes
- She / he will actively seek to ensure a defined team is allocated to provide a 24 hour servicefor the Continuity of Carer team and will be responsible for training and developing them to become confident and competent practitioners within their area of responsibility.
