Editorial Coordinator, Penguin General

London, United Kingdom Penguin Books Limited Full time

We have an exciting opportunity for an Editorial Coordinator to join Penguin General’s busy copy-editorial team. Reporting to the Senior Editorial Manager, you will oversee the progress of offsets, reprints and backlist titles as well as providing general editorial assistance to the rest of the team.

You will supervise the paperback titles for Penguin General (winner of Publisher of the Year Award 2019), which comprises six imprints: Viking, Hamish Hamilton, Fig Tree, Penguin Life, Penguin Business and Sandycove, taking responsibility for delivering titles according to schedule, budget and high standards.

Your daily tasks will include checking proofs and cover materials, booking freelancers, coordinating mailings, updating systems and preparing paperback material for production. You’ll also assist three senior members on their titles and will have the opportunity to work on a range of fiction and non-fiction, mono and colour-illustrated titles in a range of formats. While the role doesn’t support the commissioning of titles, it’s a great opportunity to work on and develop your knowledge of the publishing process.

You will have some editorial and proofreading experience, although this doesn’t have to be in book publishing. As you’ll be working with a number of teams across the business, you’ll need strong communication and project management skills. An excellent organizer, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, you’ll be able to anticipate problems and quickly resolve them. You’ll also bring impeccable attention to detail and a focus on accuracy, along with excellent proofreading skills.

**What you can expect from us**:
**Salary**: £26,000 - £28,000 depending on how your skills and experience align with the role, plus bonus and benefits.
