Mental Health Support Worker

**Role Description**
We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Care Workers to work with this young person. The individual will be living on their own so we are looking for Care Workers who can provide 1:1 support throughout their day and night.
To be part of their team they are looking for the following in a team member:
- Provide support during the good times and the difficult periods our individual faces in their daily life.
- Have a good understanding of Mental Health and how this can impact daily living or have working with in a mental health setting
- Have an understanding of Autism or have had experience working with Autistic people, and that you understand that being autistic is an important part of who they are. Be a positive advocate for them
- Be consistent - do what you say you say you will if you can’t explain why.
- Be prepared to motivate them in a supportive manner
- Be patient and understanding encourage them on the difficult days
- Have a fun and kind personality who will go on adventures
- Work with them to solve issues and over come day to day tasks
- Come to work to “Get to know me” as that is what is needed to support them
- Work as part of the team who deliver amazing person centred care
- Think out side the box
- Be able to have a laugh and joke but have set standards and boundaries

- Animals Animals and more Animals _(be prepared to be around animals, go and see animals talk about animals)_
- Gem stones and Echo systems _(don’t worry if you’re do not know they will show and explain them to you )_
- Art and crafts
- Music
- Walking _(Please have the energy to keep up with them, walking is an activity that would be required, but they will wait while you get your breath if you’re not the fastest of walkers_)
- Shopping _(you need a keen eye for bargains at vintage shops)_

PAY RATES - £15-£21 per hour

**Experience**:
- Autism: 1 year (preferred)
