Catering Assistant

Spire Bushey are looking for a Catering Assistant to join them on a permeant basis. You will be happy to work on varied hours when the hospital needs you will be a Catering Assistant that is happy to step up and provide a varied and healthy menu for both our team and patients. An NVQ in food and hygiene would be preferable.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Assist with producing meals for patients/visitors and staff at the required items, adhering to the specified standards of preparation, production and presentation.
- Servicing the restaurant and maintaining a flow of food to the service counter for staff & consultants.
- Adhering to all statutory regulations, pertaining to the safety and hygiene operations of the kitchen and ancillary areas.
- Checking in of all deliveries as necessary making sure that all records are maintained.
- Undertaking cleaning duties as per cleaning schedules and maintain clean and tidy working conditions at all times.
- Maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance at all times, reporting for duty at the designated time, dressed in the correct uniform and name badge
- To meet the needs of individual patients who may have specific dietary needs or preferences
- Preparing food and beverages for special functions and assist with other related activities as directed
- Reporting to the Head Chef any information relating to customer / client complaints, compliments or any incidents of accident, fire, loss theft or damage
- Involvement and awareness of departmental cost targets i.e. Effective Patient Day
- **Who we're looking for**
- A food hygiene certificate
- City and Guilds chef qualification or NVQ
- Used to working in a fast and high paced environment
- Some leadership experience
