Morning School Caretaker

Reliable, hardworking and conscientious caretaker required for early mornings in a school in the Priory Chase area in Rayleigh. The overall aim of the School Caretaker role is to ensure that the internal and external school facilities are available, fully functional and Health & Safety compliant.

**6.30am to 9.30am Monday to Friday**

**£11.75 per hour**

The role will include key-holding duties, security and maintenance of the school buildings and site, health and safety checks, cleaning checks etc.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

- Carrying security procedures for school building and grounds, including the opening of the premises and key holding duties.
- General maintenance duties around the school and its grounds including repair work.
- Liaising with outside contractors effectively.
- Regular monitoring in relation to the daily health and safety checks around the school premises.
- Being proactive in your approach.
- Move furniture and equipment as required.
- Competently and safely carry out a range of DIY tasks.
- Ability to deal with emergencies and unexpected events in a calm and safe manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a reasonable standard.
- Accepting and storing of deliveries in a safe and secure manner.
- You must be adaptable and flexible in your approach whilst working within the school.

**Previous experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.**

**Good communication skills are essential for Health and Safety reasons.**
