We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic **Nursery Operative** to join our hardworking and friendly team. This hands-on role is vital in ensuring our plants are maintained to the highest standards of health, appearance, and organisation.

**Location**: Moddershall, Stone
**Hours**: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (40 hours/week)
**Contract**: Permanent, Full-Time

**Benefits**: 23 days holiday + standard bank holidays | Overtime opportunities

**Key Responsibilities**
- Stock Care and Site Maintenance
- Perform daily watering of plant stock across the nursery, including weekend and bank holiday cover when needed
- Maintain irrigation systems and assist in the upkeep of tunnels, beds, and other growing structures
- Undertake key plant care tasks such as weeding, feeding, tying, pruning, and monitoring for pests and diseases
- Support the potting-on of stock and production of new crops to ensure strong plant availability year-round
- Assist with receiving and standing down incoming stock, including quality checks
- Space and display plants correctly, ensuring accessibility and visual appeal
- Maintain accurate and clear stock labelling in line with nursery standards
- Keep all nursery areas clean, tidy, and customer-ready
- Follow all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory guidelines
- Use equipment safely, ensure proper maintenance, and store tools appropriately
- Work closely with colleagues to complete tasks efficiently and effectively
- Support other departments when needed to ensure smooth operations
- Contribute positively to team spirit and uphold nursery standards in all duties

**What We’re Looking For**

We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in horticulture, who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in their work. Ideally, you’ll bring:

- Previous experience in nursery production or propagation
- A good understanding of basic plant care and cultural practices
- The ability to follow instructions, work well as part of a team, and maintain strong attention to detail
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
- A practical awareness of Health & Safety in a physical work environment
- A forklift licence (desirable)
- A full UK driving licence (desirable)
