Are you a finance professional who can help National Star secure the fees it deserves from local authorities and other commissioners for the exceptional service we provide to students and residents with complex disabilities?
In this tough financial landscape we’ve decided to invest in the new post of Finance Lead - Service Costing Manager as it’s more important than ever that we recover all the costs associated with our educational, residential and long-term living services.
The new postholder will lead the complete service costing process at National Star, ensuring a consistent approach across all contracts so that costs are fully recovered.
Reporting to the National Lead - Finance you will also be responsible for setting and revising fees, including liaising with local authorities and funders to get fees agreed.
You may be a qualified accountant, educated to degree level, who has experience of local authority commissioning and public sector funding. It goes without saying that you will be a seasoned, diplomatic negotiator with strong commercial acumen and first-class communication skills. This job is not for the faint-hearted and your resilience is likely to be tested during negotiations.
Working with large data in Excel and finance systems, you will be an expert in financial analysis.
The role will see you work closely with our friendly management accounts and funding teams as well as members of our senior management team. We want you to work as effectively as possible and so the position, although based at National Star in Ullenwood, outside Cheltenham, offers the potential for home working by agreement.
