**Summary**:
- This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated insight professional to join the Communications team at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.**Job description**:
Our remit covers many of the government’s high-profile priorities. Whether that’s levelling up the country, helping more people get onto the housing ladder, housing families displaced by the conflict in Ukraine or ending rough sleeping for good - we’re on the lookout for talented and confident professionals to help us make a difference and improve people’s lives.
Your job will be to lead our communications insight team, produce intelligence and measure the impact of our work using communications metrics, plus upskill the wider team to evaluate their campaigns.
You might find yourself using focus groups to understand local communities’ priorities; surveys to measure campaign advert re-call; or social media analytic tools to understand the public’s reactions to our announcements.
This is a rich and rewarding role which provides the opportunity to work with a diverse range of stakeholders across the UK - and Ministers and senior officials across government and overseas.
Your will join our senior management team and lead a small team.

**Responsibilities**:
Produce insight, research and evaluation to inform our communications and make sure we reach our audiences at the right time with messages that will have an impact;
Monitor and evaluate communication activity and produce high quality and timely reports, including advising Ministers and Senior Officials.
Commission and manage agencies, their products and services, and project budgets.
Represent the communications team at cross government networks - and externally with the insight profession and sector partners.
Lead, manage and develop a small team, ensuring projects are properly resourced and delivered on time and to a high standard.
Empower, motivate and inspire the insight team to deliver great work, taking responsibility for performance and development.
Upskill the wider team in evaluating campaigns and media strategies through workshops and other learning experiences.
Play an active part in the Senior Management Team, role modelling excellent leadership behaviours, and deputising for the Deputy Director.
