Job Description - Ice Rink & Ice Bar Assistant

**Event**: Alderford’s Christmas Events
**Location**: Alderford Lake, Whitchurch, Shropshire
**Contract**: Temporary, 20th November - 4th January 2026
**Hours**: Wednesday - Sunday (daytime and evening shifts)
**Minimum Age**: 16

About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable **Ice Rink & Ice Bar Assistants** to join our festive team this Christmas. This exciting role will see you rotating between two key areas of the event - helping on our sparkling Ice Rink and serving customers in our magical Ice Bar.

Warm clothing is provided for Ice Bar shifts, so you can focus on creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

**On the Ice Rink**:

- Welcome and assist customers onto the rink.
- Provide safety guidance and support, including the use of skating aids.
- Monitor the rink to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all skaters.
- Assist with skate hire and returns.

**In the Ice Bar**:

- Serve cold drinks in a friendly, professional manner.
- Keep the bar area clean, tidy, and well-stocked.
- Engage with customers, providing excellent service in a festive setting.

What We’re Looking For
- Friendly, approachable, and confident working with the public.
- Reliable team players with good communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor winter environment.
- Previous hospitality or customer service experience is desirable but not essential - full training will be provided.

Contract length: 2 months

Pay: From £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 48 per week
