**Salary/Benefits**: Salary from £31,930 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, Teachers pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

**About the role**:
We are currently seeking Lecturer in Mathematics to join our Maths and English department at The Bedford College group**.**

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

- Preparing, delivering and assessing Mathematics on a range of courses and levels.
- Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
- Managing students’ learning and providing a high-quality learning experience.
- Contributing pro-actively to developments in the Centre in curriculum development and innovative teaching.
- Participating in marketing and promotion activities to support a range of programmes and learning opportunities.
- Teaching effectively on a range of programmes, levels and qualification types recognising and meeting students’ individual needs.
- Preparing schemes of work which are up to date and fully meet the requirements of awarding bodies.
- Researching, developing and effectively implementing new learning materials in a variety of media to engage students in learning.
- Assessing students’ work effectively to meet awarding body standards and carrying out verification and moderation.
- Monitoring and recording students’ progress and taking action to ensure students meet required standards and deadlines.
- Leading curriculum development and organising the contribution of other members of teaching staff as appropriate.
- Being a designated tutor and providing student support.
- Working effectively with Advanced Practitioners to contribute to innovation in teaching and learning.
- Being responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns in line with college procedures.
- Being responsible for promoting equality and diversity in line with college procedures.
- Being responsible for following health and safety requirements in line with college policy and procedures.
- Participating proactively in training and development including qualification development required in the job role.

**About you**:

- Hold a relevant degree and/or level 5 qualification in Mathematics
- Hold a certificate in Education/PGCE or equivalent or be willing to achieve
- Have recent experience of teaching and assessing GCSE Mathematics courses
- Have knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area
- Possess the ability to demonstrate excellent classroom management
- Possess the ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and work effectively to deadlines
- Have awareness of health and safety requirements relevant to the job
- Possess the ability to demonstrate commitment to own continuing professional development
