**Head of Commercial**
Sheffield Mutual are seeking to recruit a Head of Commercial to oversee, expand and drive our current business development and marketing functions. This role is newly created and as such offers full flexibility and autonomy to create, influence and drive the society’s sales and marketing strategies. This is an exciting new role with lots of opportunity to progress.
To be successful within this role you will be experienced working at a strategic level within the financial sector, ideally working within or have a strong understanding of how Mutual Society’s operate. Alongside this, you will be confident and experienced in managing and developing a team whilst working collaboratively with other departments. A strong sales / relationship management background is essential to this role as is being confident at report writing and presenting at board meetings.
**Main Purpose of the role**
- To work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to create, implement and review the Society’s sales and marketing strategies.
- To lead the business development function and ensure new professional and corporate connections will aid the Society’s targeted business growth. This will include maintaining and expanding current relations with Intermediaries and direct relations.
- To work collaboratively with internal departments, ensuring all regulatory requirements are incorporated into any business development or marketing materials/ activity.
- To be a key contact for the Society. Proactively presenting our products and services externally and driving company branding.
- To devise, co-ordinate and undertake the Society's business development activities for all channels of distribution.
- To manage and oversee both the business development and marketing teams
- To implement a strategic approach to business development and marketing activities that are suitable within the current financial market, reporting this regularly to board members.
**Key Duties**
**Sales / Business Development**
- To devise and implement strategies, initiatives and campaigns to achieve sales targets
- To develop appropriate sales tactics required to achieve targets
- To coach, mentor and communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure that all sales opportunities are maximised
- To liaise with colleagues and intermediaries to ensure that the Society is providing the necessary levels of service and support.
- To monitor and assist with the development of sustainable relationships with Advisers and Introducers through a co-ordinated programme of face-to-face and other communications.
- To oversee the development of effective sales aids and presentations for use in business development activities.
**Marketing**
- To devise marketing ideas and initiatives and assist with new product developments.
- Oversee the current and established Marketing Team
- To implement marketing activities within budget.
- To monitor marketing results and produce appropriate KPl’s.
- To work in conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure all relevant literature is fully compliant.
- To oversee marketing campaigns.
**Package and Benefits**:
- 60-70k banding DOE

- This role is predominantly supporting and leading a small office-based team but is flexible and open opportunities to work at events, visit intermediaries and have some home working when necessary.

- 27 days plus all statutory bank holidays
- Additional discretionary 3 days holiday for Christmas closure
**Key Skills/Experience**
- Strong communication skills and demonstrable experience of building strong and robust relationships with intermediaries, advisors and other external relations.
- Experience of working within a highly regulated financial environment
- A proven track record in having influenced key stakeholders to positively drive business performance
- A high level of commercial and strategic acumen
- Experience of managing a sales team
- Strong report writing and presentational skills are required
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £60,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
