**Contract length**:This is a permanent contract however there will be a probationary period of three months.

**Hourly Rate**:variable, depending on age and experience.

**Overall Purpose of the role**:
Orchard Coffee House is a ministry of Gorsley Baptist Church opened in October 2020. We endeavor to be a community hub, where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together and be refreshed.

As one of the first people the customers meet in our Coffee House you will need to have a positive and outgoing nature that shines in a customer facing environment. Attention to the smallest details is key to ensuring brilliant customer service. Great communication skills and a passion about our products, whether our home-made cakes or fresh coffee is also key. You will operate efficiently both in the front of house, serving customers but also in the kitchen washing up and delivering food to the tables as required.

This role is flexible and requires availability on Tuesdays, Fridays and at least every other Saturday.

Our working hours are in between 9.00 am and 5.30 pm. Hours may vary to fit with the demand on staffing needs on the day, which may fluctuate slightly from week to week. Your hours will be rostered on a monthly rota which you will receive in advance.

**Principal duties and responsibilities are to**:
Offer a warm and friendly welcome to all our customers.

Follow a ‘clean-as-you-go’ procedure throughout the day.

Accurately operate the till and process payments correctly and efficiently.

Prepare drink orders in a timely manner and provide customers with table service.

Clear and wipe tables and chairs promptly once the customers have left.

Work the dishwasher and restock supplies throughout the day.

Take food orders to the tables.

Ensure completion of daily and monthly cleaning tasks and help where needed.

Perform end of day cleaning as per Coffee House procedures.

Communicate and escalate any concerns or product issues to the manager or assistant manager.

**Person specification**

Barista experience is essential.

Excellent customer service.

Flexibility to work in a dynamic, customer-focused setting.

Good communication skills, being able to relate warmly to all people.

The ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst remaining calm under pressure.

Whilst the applicant does not need to be a committed Christian, a sympathetic attitude towards the ethos of the business is necessary.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £6.40-£11.55 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
