**Function background/context**: The role is in Citi's EMEA Sanctions, AML (Anti Money Laundering) and ABC (Anti-Bribery and Corruption) legal team, which is part of the broader Regulatory Investigations/AML legal teams. **Job Purpose**: **Key Responsibilities**: - Role involves a split between AML, ABC and Sanctions work; - supporting the Sanctions compliance teams on complex questions relating to compliance with OFAC, UK, EU and UK sanctions, working closing with the other internal legal teams - Supporting the AML Compliance team in relation to ad hoc legal queries day to day including AML deal approvals, issues arising under the relevant Money Laundering legislation, SARs reporting and reviewing AML language in agreements; - Leading on calls with the business, external counsel and external clients, often within urgent timeframes; - As needed, working alongside compliance teams and regional management in dealing with responses to regulatory enquiries, legal production orders and submissions to sanctions authorities within the EMEA region; - Providing ad hoc support to internal investigations teams and the Ethics Office with regard to internal investigations related to AML, ABC and sanctions matters; - Assisting with review of ABC compliance related questions, in particular in relation to the UK Bribery Act and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. **Person Specification** **Qualifications and Competencies** - Co-operative, team orientated style - Risk awareness and sound judgment - Strong analytical ability - Ability to assimilate complex issues and communicate with all levels concisely and clearly -------------------------------------------- - **Job Family Group**: Legal ------------------------------------------------ - **Job Family**: General Legal ----------------------------------------------------- - **Time Type**: Full time ----------------------------------------------------- - Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
