**Underwriter, Financial Services - Liverpool**

**Responsibilities**:

- **Risk Assessment**: Evaluate and quantify credit risks, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- **Financial Statement Review**: Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and other relevant financial documents to determine the borrower's financial health.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with loan officers, account managers, and other departments to gather necessary information and ensure a smooth underwriting process.
- **Documentation**: Prepare comprehensive credit reports and present findings to management, highlighting key risk factors and recommendations.
- **Policy Adherence**: Ensure adherence to underwriting policies and guidelines, staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes.
- **Communication**: Maintain clear and effective communication with internal teams, providing guidance on credit decisions and offering solutions when necessary.

**Qualifications and professional experience required**:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field - _**preferred **_**but not essential**:

- Proven experience as a Credit Underwriter or in a similar role within the financial services industry - _**essential**_
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of financial statements, credit scoring models, and risk assessment techniques.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in using underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

**What’s on offer?**

A highly competitive basic salary of up to **£24,000 per annum (depending on experience**) plus private medical insurance, pension, and a host of other exciting benefits.

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£24,500.00 per year
